About aeo.blog

One piece of research a week on how ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Claude and Perplexity find, read and recommend websites.

Answer engine optimisation (AEO) is the work of getting a website into the answers AI assistants give, as well as the results search engines list. Plenty is written about it. Much less of it is measured.

How we work

  • Each post starts from something we checked ourselves: a crawl, a survey of real sites or a set of questions put to the assistants.
  • We quote vendors' own documentation for how their crawlers and products behave, and link to it.
  • Every post says how the data was collected and what it cannot show.
  • When a source changes or a number turns out wrong, we correct the post and say so on the page.

Who publishes it

aeo.blog is published by Raq.com, which also makes the SEO & AEO Checker: it audits pages for search engines and AI assistants and tracks whether the assistants cite you.
